Common network issues and solutions in computer networks

Common network issues and solutions in computer networks:-

Computer networks are an important part of modern organizations. Data is sent and received using it. And it is used for communication and connecting resources. It is necessary to fix the problem of the network. So that the functionality of the network can be increased and made efficient.

1. Connectivity problems :-

Problem: If a user is unable to connect to the network.

Solution:-

Reboot the computer and router: If the user is unable to connect to the network, then he can connect to the network by resetting the circuit first.

Check the network cable and connection: if the user is unable to connect to the network. Then check the network cable to see if the network cable is connected correctly or not. And whether the network cable is broken or not.

Check the settings of the network adapter: If the user is unable to connect to the network. Then check if the network adapter is connected correctly or not. Check IP address: If the user is unable to connect to the network, then verify the correct IP address assignment.

2. Slow internet connection:-

Problem: If the user is connecting to the network and the internet is running very slow.

Solution:-

Check bandwidth usage: If the data speed in the network is very slow, then check the bandwidth. Whether any other device is using the network more or not.

Improve the router's position: If the network speed is very slow, then keep the router in such a place from where the signal is stronger. So that the data speed in the network increases.

Scan malware: If the data speed in the network is slow, then scan the malware on the computer. Which makes the data connection very slow.

System update: Always keep the router and computer software updated so that the data speed in the network does not slow down.

3. Wireless network problems:-

Problem: If there is a problem in connecting to the wireless network.

Solution:-

Remove signal interference: If you are facing problems connecting to the wireless network, then keep away electronic devices that create signal problems. Keep the router away from all these.

Change channel: If you are facing problems connecting to the wireless network, then go to router settings and change the channel so that congestion can be reduced.

Use a wireless range extender: There is a problem in making a wireless connection in big places. Therefore, use a wireless range extender. So that wireless connectivity can be made to far-off places.

4. Network security problems:-

Problem: Unauthorized access is happening in the network.

Solution:-

Use a strong password: If unauthorized access is happening on the network, then make the password of the network device strong. So that the security of the network can be strong.

Use a firewall and antivirus: If unauthorized access is happening on the network, then use a firewall and antivirus. So that the security of the network can be increased.

Do network monitoring: Always monitor the network traffic and keep checking the security of the network.

5. IP conflict:-

Problem: If two or more devices are using the same IP address.

Solution:-

Check the IP configuration: If two or more devices are using the same IP address. Then enter the manual IP address. And correct the DHCP settings.

Reboot the network device: if two or more devices are using the same IP address. Then reboot the router and devices so that this problem can be fixed.

Increase the IP address range if two or more devices are using the same IP address. Then increase the DHCP range so that there can be more and more IP addresses.

6. DNS problems:-

Problem: If the website is not loading. And DNS is showing an error.

Solution:-

Check the DNS server: If the website is not loading. And DNS is showing error. To fix this, use an alternate DNS server. For example GOOGLE DNS (8.8.8.8)

Clear DNS cache: If the website is not loading and is showing DNS error, then use ipconfig/flushdns command to clear DNS cache so that DNS cache can be cleared and DNS error can be fixed.

Reboot network settings: If the website is not loading and is showing DNS error, then disable and enable the network adapter to fix this problem.

7. Network device failure:-

Problem: If the router or switch hardware is not working properly.

Solution:-

Check the hardware: If the network hardware is not working properly, then check whether the hardware is connected properly or not. Also check the power supply of the hardware.

Reset the hardware: If the network hardware is not working properly, then factory reset the device so that this problem can be fixed.

New hardware: If the network hardware has become very old, then replace it.

Conclusion:-

It is very common to have problems in computer networks. But it is very difficult to fix these problems. By knowing and understanding the problems, they can be fixed. And the efficiency of the network can be increased. And the network can also be made secure by monitoring the network.

What are the troubleshooting methodologies

Network Troubleshooting Methodologies: Network Problem Solving Techniques :- Network problem solving is an important task whose purpose is to identify the network problems and fix them. Therefore, this process demands technical knowledge and use of the right tools. Network management, network engineers, and IT assistants are responsible for identifying and solving network problems. In this article, network troubleshooting and methods will be explained. Problem identification :- The first step in network problem solving is to identify the problem. Many steps have been taken for this: 1. Network monitoring: Any unusual activity occurring on the network can be identified using network monitoring tools. These tools monitor the availability, performance, and security of the network. 2. User reports: It evaluates the problems and complaints received from the users. Then it is known where the problem is occurring in the network. 3. Log File Analysis: Evaluates the log files of network devi...

What is a firewall

What is a firewall: An integral part of computer security :- In the context of computer and network security, a firewall is a special device that prevents unauthorized access and helps to secure data. And it restricts network traffic and only allows data coming from reputable sources. Therefore, through this article, the types of firewalls, definitions, benefits, and their functions and rules for implementing them will be explained. Definition of firewall (structure):- A firewall is a security system that has been created to keep the network safe. Its main goal is to block unauthorized traffic and allow only the traffic that comes with the right credentials. It filters network traffic and monitors the data coming and going in the network. Types of firewall :- There are two types of firewalls: software firewalls and hardware firewalls. Apart from this, there are other types of network security. 1. Software Firewall: A software firewall is a program that is applied to a computer or netwo...
