Wi-Fi Network Setup and Troubleshooting Wi-Fi Networks :-
Nowadays, in the age of technology, the use of Wi-Fi has increased for internet access. The use of Wi-Fi networks has made internet connectivity easy in homes, offices, and public places. It is often seen that setting up Wi-Fi is difficult for many users.
Set up a Wi-Fi network :-
Essential Equipment:-
1. Router: To connect to a Wi-Fi network, we need a good router. Which connects to the wifi network and gives us internet.
2. Modem: To connect to a Wi-Fi network, we also need a modem along with the router.
3. Internet Connection: To connect to a Wi-Fi network, an internet service is required.
4. Ethernet Cable: To connect to a Wi-Fi network, Ethernet is required to connect the router and modem.
Step 1. Hardware setup :-
1. Modem connection: To connect to the wifi network, connect your modem to the line provided by the internet provider.
2. Router connection: To connect to the wifi network, connect the modem and router via Ethernet. Then connect the router to the power supply. And turn it on.
Step 2. Router setup :-
1. Router's IP address: The user should open the web browser of his computer. Then type and search the IP address given in the router. Examples of IP addresses are 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1.
2. Login: Log in to the router's admin website by entering the username and password. Usually this username and password will be found in the router's manual.
3. Network settings: Go to the router's admin website and click on network settings. Set the SSID (network name) and password in it.
4. Save and restart: Save all the settings of the router and restart the router.
Troubleshooting of Wi-Fi network :-
1. Not connecting:-
If you are not connecting to the network, turn off the router and turn it on again.
- Password check: While connecting to the network, make sure to enter the correct password.
- Contact the Internet service provider: Even after doing all this, if you are not able to connect to the internet, then contact your Internet provider.
2. Slow speed :-
- Check the signal: If the internet is running very slow, then keep the router in the middle of the house so that all the devices can connect easily.
- Disconnect unwanted devices: If the internet is running slow, then disconnect the devices that do not need internet.
- Update the router: Even then, if the internet slows down, then update the firmware of your router.
3. The Wi-Fi network is not visible :-
- Check SSID: If the Wi-Fi network is not showing, then go to the router's admin website and check the SSID.
- Change the router's position: If the network is not visible for some reason, then you can check it by changing the router's position.
4. Security problem:
- Set a strong password: Set the password of the Wi-Fi network strong so that no other user can connect to it. And Wi-Fi can be secure.
- Setup guest network: Create separate guest networks for home users so that the main network can be secure.
- Enable firewall: To make the Wi-Fi network secure, go to the router's admin website and turn on the firewall settings.
