Network Troubleshooting Methodologies: Network Problem Solving Techniques :-
Network problem solving is an important task whose purpose is to identify the network problems and fix them. Therefore, this process demands technical knowledge and use of the right tools. Network management, network engineers, and IT assistants are responsible for identifying and solving network problems. In this article, network troubleshooting and methods will be explained.



Problem identification :-
The first step in network problem solving is to identify the problem. Many steps have been taken for this:

1. Network monitoring: Any unusual activity occurring on the network can be identified using network monitoring tools. These tools monitor the availability, performance, and security of the network.

2. User reports: It evaluates the problems and complaints received from the users. Then it is known where the problem is occurring in the network.

3. Log File Analysis: Evaluates the log files of network devices, and these log files provide information about the performance and errors of network devices.



Identification of possible causes :-

After the problem is identified, the next step is to identify the possible causes. Its steps are as follows:

1. Hardware Check: Checks the network's hardware devices, such as routers, switches, and network cables, and determines whether these devices are working properly or not.

2. Software Updates: Checks the version of network software and firmware and updates it.

3. Connectivity Test: Checks the connectivity between different parts of the network to determine whether all the devices are properly connected or not.



Troubleshooting :-

Various methodologies are adopted for the problem:

1. Impact Analysis: Analyzes the impact of the problem on the network. This helps in understanding how complex the problem is.

2. Isolation Testing: Various components are checked to isolate the problem. This helps in identifying the important causes of the problem.

3. Configuration Verification: Checks the configuration of the network. And decides whether the network settings are correct or not.



Problem Solving :-

The following steps are taken to solve the problem :-

1. Hardware Replacement: If any hardware is damaged, then it works to change it.

2. Software Patching: Installs patches to fix software bugs. And decides whether all the software is on the new version or not.

3. Network Topology Correction: Corrects the problems of network topology. And decides whether the network topology is correct or there is any problem in it.



Documentation and Review :-

The last step of network troubleshooting is documentation and review :

1. Documentation: All the information about the problem and its solutions is recorded in the document. This document can be used to solve network problems in the future.

2. Review: Review all processes and find solutions to avoid such problems in the future and ensure that such network problems do not occur in the future.



Preventive measures :-

After the problem is resolved, take preventive measures to prevent such problems in the future:

1. Network monitoring: Continuous network monitoring. This determines whether the network is working properly or not.

2. Software updates: Update network software and firmware from time to time to ensure that all software is on the latest version or not.

3. Network security: Ensures the security of the network and uses antivirus software and hardens firewall settings.

4. Regular backup: Regularly backing up important data and keeping it in a safe place and ensuring that the data is safe and there is no risk of losing it.

5. Network traffic analysis: Helps in understanding network traffic. In which part of the network is there more traffic, and in which part is there less traffic?



Tools for network troubleshooting :-

1. Ping: Using this tool, we check the network connection. It is very easy to use. Using this tool we can find out how many devices are connected to the network.

2. Traceroute: Using this tool, we can find out the route of packets through the network. Using this we can find out where the packets are getting blocked.

3. Wifi Analyzer: Using this tool, we can check the wireless network. Using this we can find out whether there is any problem with the wireless network or not.



Examples of network troubleshooting :-

1. Slow network performance: If the network speed is slowing down, then the reason for this can be high traffic in the network, or it can be old network equipment. To fix this, check the network traffic and keep changing the network equipment.
2. Network connectivity problem: If there is a problem in network connection, then check the network cable or router and fix it.

3. Network security problem: If there is a problem in network security, then use firewall and antivirus software.


Conclusion :-
Fixing network problems is a very difficult task. But it can be fixed by using the right tools. Using the right technique, the network problem can be identified and fixed. Network problems can be fixed by using many tools.
